Gioielli Alla Moda

Jewellery À La Mode in Royal Palace of Milan

This Exhibition display over 500 designs from famous masters and young talents around the world. Selected jewelries define the aesthetic reflection of an evolving society along with women's achievements and ambitions with style adjustments and technological process from World War II until now.

I had a remarkable experience at Palazzo reale by visiting "Gioielli alla Moda" exhibition which is held in one of the most prestigious salons of the Royal Palace in Milan.. This unique exhibition is curated by my dear ex-professor Alba Cappellieri*, and it applies to the relationship between jewelry and fashion.

Jewelry and accessories have been found in all of the early civilisations. It is not always possible to know exactly what role they played, they were likely used to designate status or manufactured as an ornament to complement a particular fashionable costume or garment.

This Exhibition display over 500 designs from famous masters and young talents around the world. Selected jewelries define the aesthetic reflection of an evolving society along with women's achievements and ambitions with style adjustments and technological process from World War II until now.

Here you can find some of the displayed jewelries.

The exhibition is divided into 3 major sections;

Jewels for Fashion: dedicated to the main Italian costume jewels and pieces of excellence.

Jewels of Fashion: dedicated to independent designers and brands, focused on creative process.

Jewels with Fashion: dedicated to the major designers and how jewelry can interact with clothing
