What SLS Nylon Feels Like: Light, Strong, and Made for Everyday Wear

Why we use SLS (PA12) for jewelry

Selective Laser Sintering turns PA12 nylon powder into solid parts. A laser fuses the powder in thin layers. You get high dimensional accuracy and a clean matte surface. Parts are light and strong. You can wear larger forms without fatigue. We color, finish and assemble each piece in Italy.

The feel on skin & Strength

SLS nylon has a soft matte touch, closer to fine powder coat than slick plastic. It warms to body temperature quickly and stays comfortable from morning to evening, even in larger silhouettes like wide cuffs. Nylon has a high strength to weight ratio. You get volume without bulk. Rings do not dig into fingers during typing. Cuffs sit stable on the wrist. Earrings do not pull on the lobe. A MyCity ring weighs about 3 g.

We produce in small batches to reduce overproduction and keep intention. Each piece is finished by hand. No two are exactly the same.

We finish and color every piece in the studio. Botanical dyes such as turmeric, tea, rose, and coffee create warm tones. For shades nature cannot produce, we use low VOC textile color. Hand application creates small variations. That is normal and expected.

  • Botanical dyes when possible.
  • Low VOC textile color for specific tones.
  • Hand work gives each piece its own character.

Colour over time & what to expect

  • Botanical shades can mellow slightly with light exposure
  • Deeper textile colours hold tone longer
  • Store pieces out of direct sun when not in use
  • If a tone softens, contact us. We can advise on refresh options
